Hacker suspect blames the mob
COMPUTER forensics investigator Bryan Sartin says court systems are ill-equipped to understand e-crime, even at a basic level.
Here he describes a recent case of a hacker who stole customer information from a retail system.
The case didn't play out as he expected.
"The retailer found out about the hack when a large number of customers came in, complaining of identity fraud," he says.
"Someone saying: 'I've got a credit card, I've only used it three times at your store and now it's got counterfeit fraud on it, what's happening?'
