14 arrests as credit card fraudsters are broken up in Spain
The Spanish National Police had the help of the United States Secret Service to break up a network of international credit card fraudsters, who are believed to have carried out more than 300 frauds, and controlled some of the most active computer hackers in the world.
Fake cards were used from Singapore to China and Malaysia. 14 credit card ‘skimmers’ have been arrested in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
More than 100 police took part in the operation after investigations which started in February this year following fraudulent purchases by credit cards in Madrid where the head of the organisation was based. Searches have been carried out in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
