PDF Flaw Is Used by Botnet

According to researches on security, an unpatched flaw is used by the Zeus botnet in such a document format as Adobe’s PDF. It is made in order users get infected with a malicious code.

After the predictions of experts that the “/Launch” design flaw located in PDF documents would be used by hackers, the attacks appeared in less than a week. The intentions of hackers are to install malware on computers of unsuspecting users.

Recently security researches identified Zeus variant that makes use of a malicious PDF file. Due to it the attack code is embedded in the document. “Royal_Mail_Delivery_Notice.pdf.” is a PDF file which users are asked to save when they open the rogue PDF. As a matter of fact, when the file runs, it starts hijacking your PC.
