Woman has twice been victim of identity theft
Every time Candy King goes to write a check, she cringes.
"I use Visa now, or cash," King said. King, a Lindsay resident, has been the victim of identity theft. Twice.
In December, King said she received a call from a telechecking company informing her that she had written a check that had bounced in Glendale, Ariz. Not only did King know she didn't write the check on the day she was told it was written, she's never been to Glendale. Bounced checks were written for purchases in two or three Wal-Mart stores in Arizona, none of which King wrote.
