Improved security for Citibank online customers

Citibank Bhd has launched a new security feature that the bank claimed would improve the security of those using its Internet banking facilities.

The feature, launched in conjunction with its ongoing customer education programme, is known as “The Dynamic PIN,” – a radical departure from the current Internet banking login procedure used by its customers, the bank said in a statement.

Dynamic PIN eliminates the use of conventional keystroke input using a computer keyboard and instead requires customers to enter a six-digit personal identification number using a mouse and an onscreen keypad.

To further reduce any possibility of the customers’ Internet PIN being recorded by third parties, the number displayed on the onscreen keypad will randomly rotate with each login.
